This international conference is one in a series that have gathered biennially, over the past 30 years, physicists and other scientists who direct their work towards several aspects of nonlinear phenomena and complex systems. The main purpose of LAWNP meeting is to create a motivating environment, such that researchers from Latin America and from other parts of the world can present and discuss not only their own latest results but also the trends and perspectives in this very interdisciplinary field of investigation. Hence, it constitutes a forum for promoting scientific collaboration and fomenting the emergence of new ideas, helping to advance the field The meeting is deliberately structured to encourage active participation from young scientists through both invited and contributed oral presentations and poster sessions. The conference will consist of plenary invited talks, symposium, mini-symposium, contributed talks and poster sessions.
The online registration is open for the XVI Latin American Workshop on Nonlinear Phenomena (LAWNP 2019) that will be held in La Paz, Bolivia, from Tuesday 22nd to Saturday 26th October 2019.
Several Bolivian academic institutions organize this workshop, in particular, the Faculty of Sciences (Facultad de Ciencias Puras y Naturales) of the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA) and the Military Engineering School (Escuela Militar de Ingeniería, EMI).

The participation fees are of US$ 230, with a reduction for students (US$ 130), and a reduction for early-registration (US$ 210 and US$ 110 respectively). The fees will cover participation in the conference, the welcome reception (Monday, October 21st, 2019), conference materials, coffee breaks, banquet and cultural event, and touristic tour. There will be prizes for the best posters. Further details for the payment will be announced soon on the website.

The venue of the workshop is the lovely city of La Paz, Bolivia. Surrounding by the high mountains of the Andes, and its abundance of cultural events, La Paz will delight you by its climate and its incredible views thanks to the most extended and highest urban cable car network in the world. In May 2015, La Paz was officially recognized as one of the New 7 Wonders Cities. Situated near beautiful natural sites like Titicaca Lake, tropical lowlands, and further the world’s largest salt flat «Salar de Uyuni,» and near the pre-Inca archeological site of Tiwanaku, the workshop can also be the discovery of a new world.
Be aware that Sunday 20th, October is the poll day in Bolivia. Thus, it is highly recommended to all participants not to arrive this day because there will be no public transport.
